Search the Charity Commission register at register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk. Your name must not be identical or too similar to an existing charity. Also check Companies House if registering as a CIO or company.
A good charity name is: memorable, easy to spell and say, descriptive of your mission, and available as a domain name. Avoid overly long names, acronyms that mean nothing to outsiders, or names too similar to existing organisations.
